BROKENCODE / DESKTOP + TERMINAL + PHONE
Your coding agent.
On your machine.
A quieter workspace for serious work. Start with a wider composer, choose your model and reasoning, and move between code, connected apps, and a built-in browser. Dictate locally and continue the same task from a directly paired phone.
01 / TERMINAL
Install from the command line.
Choose your terminal. Each installer detects the processor architecture and downloads the latest matching release without administrator access.
Copy the full command below. Computer control uses BrokenCode Desktop and opens the required system consent prompts. Terminal coding is ready immediately. When installation finishes, run brokencode from your project folder in the same terminal.
curl -fsSL https://brokengpt.com/install | bash -s -- --permissions &&
export PATH="$HOME/.brokencode/bin:$PATH"irm https://brokengpt.com/install.ps1 | iex02 / DESKTOP
Pick your platform.
Choose BrokenCode Desktop for Mac, Windows, or Linux. The familiar desktop workspace connects to the same local engine as the terminal and iPhone app.
03 / ANDROID
Your computer.
In your pocket.
Continue your BrokenCode tasks in a native Android app. Send photos with a prompt, search folders on your computer, choose available models and reasoning, and follow the same tasks and live terminals.
Install the APK on Android 8 or later. Enable Remote access in BrokenCode Desktop, then choose Connect computer on your phone and scan its QR once. Your phone prefers direct access and uses an authenticated tunnel when a router or mobile carrier blocks it. No Cloudflare login or router setup is needed.
When Android asks, allow your browser to install this download. Install future updates over the existing app to keep your sign-in and drafts.
Android connection guide04 / WORKFLOW
More capable.
Still in your control.
Move from an idea to working code with planning, persistent goals, and tools that stay with your project.
Dictate on your device.
Press the microphone to download the improved English speech model once. macOS, Windows, and Linux transcribe on your computer; supported phones use their local speech engines. Review the transcript in your draft before sending.
Use local dictationMake room for the work.
A wider prompt box, clearer typography, graphite and light themes, consistent connection icons, and subtle motion make the workspace easier to read. Turn gentle motion off in Appearance; system reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Explore the new workspaceA browser inside your workspace.
Open tabs, keep signed-in sessions, inspect pages, take screenshots, upload files, and use drag and drop. The agent can use the built-in browser’s Chrome DevTools Protocol controls while you follow its work.
Explore browser toolsTry a web chatbot connection.
Enable the optional experiment in desktop Settings and paste a chatbot website. BrokenCode detects its chat controls and checks your connection automatically after sign-in. Only verified connections appear as models. Website compatibility varies; connections accept text and use the website’s selected model.
Read how the experiment worksBuild with an Ultra team.
Select Ultra after X High to coordinate component work, integration, and an independent review. Open each worker’s conversation and follow its progress. For UI work, agents build and refine individual components before assembling the complete experience.
Explore Ultra modeOne workspace. Every device.
Enable direct Remote access in BrokenCode Desktop and scan one QR in the phone app. Saved credentials reconnect to your computer’s tasks, files, and terminals. Router mapping or a private network provides access across networks; no hosted relay is needed for a reachable direct connection. Existing account connections remain available.
Explore remote controlTest it. Fix it. Verify it.
Use /tester for end-to-end checks, reproducible bug reports, and suggested solutions. Hand the findings to /developer for fixes, regression checks, and a draft PR. Both keep working toward a persistent goal.
Explore Tester and DeveloperBuild its own tools.
BrokenCode can create reusable JavaScript tools, check their results, repair failures, and call them again. Saved tools follow your project permissions.
Explore reusable toolsConnect what you need.
Find GitHub, Gmail, and other services in Apps & MCP. Complete each service’s authorization to enable its tools. The agent can also discover MCP servers and add tools to your project; connecting an account alone never sends mail.
Explore app connectionsPlan, then build.
Use Plan to investigate and shape the approach. Review the plan before moving into Build to make changes.
Work with PlanKeep the goal.
Set an objective with /goal. Pause, resume, edit, or clear it, and track token use while the agent works toward completion.
Use persistent goalsChoose your model and depth.
Manage models on desktop, iPhone, or Android. Your phone uses the connected computer’s available models and saved choices. Supported reasoning levels appear with the model; Ultra coordinates a team of agents.

One release powers every update.
Desktop builds download available updates in the background. Choose Install and restart in Settings to apply them. Mac versions before 1.18.41 need a one-time installation from this page to receive the repaired updater. The terminal downloads compatible patch updates automatically; the shared engine uses them when its workspace restarts. Active work stays in the computer's shared engine.
