Update from your desktop app.
BrokenCode checks for available updates while it is running. The downloaded app is verified before installation. Your projects, tasks, settings, and saved connections remain in their existing storage.
- Open Settings → General and choose Check now.
- Wait for the download to finish. The button shows download progress.
- Choose Install and restart. BrokenCode prepares the replacement, closes the app, and opens the updated version.
- Check the version in Settings after the app opens. If preparation cannot proceed, the app shows the reason so you can correct it and try again.
Install once if an earlier Mac update gets stuck.
Some earlier Mac builds downloaded an update but could not install it. Install BrokenCode 1.18.41 or later from the download page once to receive the repaired updater and the restored app icon.
Download the installer for Apple Silicon or Intel, close BrokenCode, and replace the existing app in Applications. Open it from Applications. Future updates can be installed with the in-app button.
If the app is in a folder you cannot write to, move it to a writable Applications folder before updating. Updates preserve local app data; you do not need to delete your settings or reauthorize connected accounts.
Keep your phone app current.
Install the latest signed Android APK over the existing app to preserve sign-in, drafts, and paired computers. Use the current desktop and phone versions together for direct connections and local dictation.
The iPhone source can be built and installed with Xcode using the same Apple signing team as the installed app. App Store and TestFlight downloads are not currently available. Development installations follow their Apple provisioning profile’s expiration date.
