UPDATED 16 Sept 20263 min readTECHNICAL GUIDE
01

Select a free model directly from the picker.

BrokenCode reads the current OpenCode Zen catalog and offers models explicitly listed as free without requiring an API key. Choose the model that fits your task and start a session.

02

Connect an account when your model requires one.

  1. Open the model picker and select OpenCode Zen.
  2. Choose an available free model, or open the connection panel to add your OpenCode Zen API key.
  3. Select the model and start or resume the project session.
03

Availability follows the service's current catalog.

Free models and usage limits can change. If a request reaches a usage limit or a model is unavailable, BrokenCode reports the service error so you can retry later or choose another connected model.

04

BrokenGPT remains a separate connection.

You can also authorize your BrokenGPT account. BrokenGPT uses the stable broken-one public alias and a privately routed mixture of open-source models.
